The Nixon Block

The Nixon Block

Just back from 4 days in Nevada. Hoping for great summer monsoon clouds, it just ended up being mostly socked in, most of the time. Big rainstorms and flash floods all over the state forced constant changes of plan and location improvisations. Hit Goldfield the weekend of “Goldfield Nights” where there were 2 street fairs and a band playing in the middle of Columbia Street. Never seen this town so busy. The 3-story Nixon & Wingfield block (1905) just off Highway 95, is remarkably well preserved, considering GF’s been a half ghost town for almost 100 years. Blue, red and white flashlight under totally cloudy skies.
