First time I tried to shoot this classic Amboy, California sign in at night, the owner chased me off with a shotgun. This time, there wasn't a soul to be found.

Sunset on U.S. Route 666 in southern Arizona. Redesignated U.S. Route 491 in 2003 because of pressure from Christian groups and the AZ highway department, who was tired of replacing stolen signs.

THE FAT MAN SLEEPS  2002
The Las Vegas Neon Museum boneyard, Las Vegas, NV. This is "Mr. O'Lucky", the gigantic fiberglass figure/sign for the old Fitzgeralds casino. A couple of years ago he was destroyed by a fire started inside his body by homeless squatters living inside. All that's left is a charred spot in the dirt and pile of melted fiberglass.

This was shot about 2AM. When I rounded his feet to light the "El Cortez" sign, I woke up a homeless guy sleeping by his head. We scared the hell out of each other, but managed to avoid each other the rest of the night.
