Job-Rated G

An early ’50s, “Job-Rated G” Dodge, flatbed truck, one of the victims of the now cleared out Pearsonville Junkyard.

This was very complex to shoot.  I had to work quick; I wanted to catch the moon while it was still low on the horizon and keep the exposure short, so the moon would still appear circular and leave the ambient light in the scene very dark.  The truck was lit with a red LED flashlight from the front and a purple gelled strobe from the rear, as well as a purple strobe pop in the interior.  The chrome logo was lit with a snooted LED flashlight, from a very shallow angle to make that elliptical shape . . . all done in a 51 second exposure.  It took at least 10 tries to get it right.
