And there was much rejoicing . . . Along with the recent Mile 81 and From a Buick 8 Stephen King book covers, I’ve also managed to land the cover for Christine, one of my favorite SK books. This is for the UK/Australian markets only, but I’m sure it’s available world-wide from amazon.uk. Yay! […]
Pee Dash
More hyperactive coloration from the Big M last weekend. Red, purple and lime gelled LED flashlights from at least 6 directions during a quick 104 second exposure. This ’56 Mercury is remarkably complete and intact, I’m sure John will find a new home for it soon.
Flank Against the Fence
1971/’72 Mustang at Paul’s Junkyard. Until recently this car was hidden behind a pile of 30′ girders. I focused the camera on the grille and headlights first. The interior was lit with a green-gelled strobe, the headlights, a natural LED and the red is an LED flashlight reflected off of a white car right behind […]
The Spectral Pioneer
Rolled back out to The Big M Auto Salvage yard with Joe, Riki and Amy this weekend for my semi-annual visit. I like to go back every 6 months, give or take, so that the cars in the yard have a chance to turn over. I’m always amazed at the barn finds and derelicts that […]
Pony Withers
Paul’s Junkyard. Blue and red LED flashlights. The exposure was short enough that the background remained dark.

In the southern foothills, near a hamlet called Three Points, I found this wrecked 25′ Winnebago, canted at […]
The French Woods
Almost everything at the Military Vehicle Technology Foundation Museum is painstakingly restored and kept indoors, but this rusty and tattered Marmon Herrington CTL parked by the gate was just begging to be “Lost America-ized.” 30 second exposure, red and green-gelled strobe.
New Gallery: Gene Winfield Customs
I’m going live today with a new gallery on the site: Gene Winfield Customs. Legendary customizer Winfield has been creating award-winning custom cars and well known movie vehicles since 1947. His high desert shop and personal junkyard has to be seen to be believed. Hope you enjoy these 27 new images that have never appeared […]
Panther Tank Details
Some detail views of the the Military Vehicle Technology Foundation’s PzKpfw V “Panther” Tank. This is considered the finest Panther in the world. Of the 6,000 originally built between 1942-’45, there are only 6 operational models left. These were shot indoors, in total darkness and lit with xenon Stinger Streamlight, AA Maglite and red LED flashlights.
