Lost America

When I shot this, I didn’t care for the shadow of the chainlink fence pasted all over the front of this battered Lincoln, but I’ve grown to like its textural qualities. Full moon for 112 seconds with lots of local ambient light, red, blue and green from the Protomachines flashlight.

The weathered tail of a ’55 Imperial at Big M.  Black lacquer peeling and slathered with incredible blobs of rusting, organic-looking chrome.  This tank must weigh 14 million pounds.  82-seconds of full moon, with purple, red and white from the Protomachines flashlight.

Paul’s junkyard, in the Mojave. Cold. Windy. Brutal. 165 seconds of full moon, with a little LED on the truck’s door.

Abandoned in Herlong, California.  Night, 89-seconds of full moon and sodium vapor light, with red from the Protomachines flashlight.

Fisheyed, in abandoned Wonder Valley late at night, out near 29 Palms.  107-seconds of full moon, with red inside and lime and white outside.  Shot 10/2015.

’57 Chevy on the trailer at Big M.  Another amazing find, coming or going somewhere.  Not registered since 2006.  Night, 72-seconds of full moon, with blue, red, green and white from the Protomachines flashlight.

Another translucent speedo in a 1960ish MOPAR dash.  I love the way you can use backlight to make them glow like this.  Totally unique.  Big M Auto Salvage, night, total darkness with red, lime and white flashlight.  

A 1957 Chrysler Windsor that hasn’t been registered in almost 50 years, another rescued gem at Big M Auto Salvage.  Night, 69-seconds of full moon, with white, purple and red from the Protomachines flashlight.
