The Mummies Ambulance

A groovie ghoulie for you, it’s the Mummie’s Ambulance.  This was the official vehicle of the surfpunk band.  Check these guys out, they freekin rawk.  Just another insanely cool item in storage at Paul’s Junkyard.

The Go-Go Sound

These early-’60s Pontiac ambulance conversions are pretty rare these days.  Finding one with this paint job, in this condition . . . it’s why I continue to comb the junkyards of the west!  Lit with an LED flashlight on the grille and down the side, as well as on the armored car (a movie prop fake) behind it.  A couple of blue strobe pops thru the windows from the far side too.

The Mummies

It’s parked in a narrow slot between two semi-trailers.  All these images were shot with the camera set up as far from the car as I could get.  The back was pretty chewed up too, so I avoided getting that in the shot.  This was lit with an LED flashlight, down the side from the front of the car, just off camera right.  I also lit the sticker and roof light from the far side.

Karloff's Test Drive

Love the sticker.  I lit this from the back to get Karloff’s face to glow.  I was conscious of the shadow from the fan belts hanging back there too, making sure I incorporated it into the composition.  The rest is moonlight.
