Last October, Paul cleaned up the area behind this 1959 Chrysler Imperial, opening up this angle for me to shoot. It’s just a body on casters. Weird huh? It’s a movie prop from the film “Cobb” built to be easy to move around on the set. I loved how it seemed like the car was being sucked into that black hole–a tunnel cut out of the sky.
I made sure to light underneath it to show how it seems to be floating, yet also making sure the casters were visible, belying that fanciful conceit. Yellow gelled strobe underneath and inside, from the front of the car, LED flashlight from camera left onto the bumper, casters and rusty tank on the right. Everything else is accumulated full moon light during the 255-second exposure.
