Another derelict building at the base of a giant pile of mine tailings at Grantsville, Nevada. Founded after an 1863 gold strike, by 1885 the mine had mostly played out. It limped along until 1947, when the 50-building town was completely abandoned. Only a few structures remain.
More Protomachine lighting, the interior was lit from a variety of angles with red and desaturated blue and green. I climbed part way up the mine tailings behind the wall and projected purple light through the small window. I really have come to like the glowing softness this light source allows-it’s capable of great subtlety. Full moon, 10-minute exposure.
