Lost America at 111 Minna Gallery

111 Minna Show

111 Minna Show

This is the biggest news to come out of the Lost America HQ in . . . forever: I’m in the middle of preparing for my first major US Gallery show, which opens March 4th, 2016, at the bitchen “111 Minna Gallery” in downtown San Francisco. They are giving me the entire main room, which will hold 29 limited-edition prints–works spanning my 25 years of night photography–including a number of new images never shown online before (like the one in this post). Print sizes will range from 8×12 to a couple of monumental 4×6 footers.

This potentially career-defining event was brought on by an incidental appearance in a group show at Heist Gallery in London in 2013, where every piece I gave them sold at collectors prices. Even after another high-profile gallery opportunity fizzled out in 2014/15, Minna was thrilled to have me. I’ve actually been on their schedule for over a year, quietly waiting for my moment to come. With all the paperwork signed and the printing/framing under way . . . it’s a relief to be able to finally share this great news with everyone.

To all the bloggers, print writers, and taste-makers out there that regularly follow my interweb postings, I’m calling in favors. Please, spread the word about this show. Those of you that know me personally, you know just how much of a financial burden putting together a giant show like this is for an always broke artist like me. It’s important that this show is a success. To ALL of you, my sincerest thanks for all your support over the years. You are all invited. There will be much more info to come over the next two months . . .
