Another blast from the past, this image was shot at Kingman, Arizona in December 1999. This fleet of early-’70s vintage TWA Lockheed L1011’s had their engines removed prior to dismantling. Most of these airframes were melted down shortly after shooting this image.
8-minute exposure, on Kodak 160T film, under a full moon, with red-gelled strobe on the wing and engine mount. Page 111 of my out-of-print book “Lost America.”
